Lots of people have asked questions about my home education and what I do when I am not filming or working on my Chloemejustme blog and social media channels.
Well for starters the blog, youtube, instagram and all that jazz is in fact part of my home education! I learn to type, spell, punctuate, paragraph... need I go on? I also learn about filming equipment, editing software, graphic software and online apps and channels to promote this very blog. albeit I don't do this on my own I have my mum to help me and she is always showing me how to do new things!
Also allot of things I am sent to review become part of my home education Just like The Curiosity box as that is filled with STEAM experiments which i do throughout the month. owlcrate Jr always comes with an amazing book and activities and products like ZU3D an animating tool becomes incredibly useful.
This month it was all about starting a new routine, we have chosen what I wanted to learn, I wanted to know more about fractions and measuring so my mum got me some fun things about snowflakes which we linked with learning about them too by watching videos, reading books and drawing them.
Here's me doing my fractions and angles using snowflakes and lots of colour!
I have lots of workbooks that I dip into when we have some quiet times, I even take them out and about with me and do them when I'm waiting for my food! They can be a bit boring so we don't use them all the time but come in handy.
I have a few online subscriptions where I can do some online learning at the moment I am using: Prodigy maths, Doodle maths, Literacy planet and mysteries of Science. It sounds like allot but they are used throughout the year and not every day. These are good on days I get a bit stressed and find things a bit hard. I also like Ted ED youtube videos and watch them allot.
I had a Google Home for Christmas and that has had quite a lot of questions thrown at it! Also she says some funny things so has been quite entertaining too.
We have started a project on New York and I am researching the city through a number of ways, we plan on making some well know recipes like bagels and a cheesecake.
There are sometimes Home ed groups, events and meetups and we try and go to ones that sound good or interesting. As we are new to our area its hard to find out what is going on and make new friends but I have made a few and some I see every week and some every now and again. My mum decided to set up a harry potter event so I can meet people and it went very well. She will be doing that regularly now so I am really really happy about that.
I like that our life is very creative and it makes it fun to learn. I'm starting to feel like life is starting to go my way.
I love doing art and my mum is signing me up to do a Bronze arts award, we always have an arty day and they are my favourite!
We also visit many art galleries, museums and libraries, we have been to a few exhibitions this month and getting to know the area better. We plan on picking a place and just jumping on a train to it for the day.
I hope you have found this post interesting and I will be doing a monthly round up so you get to see the other side of chloemejustme.
Its not as colourful but its just as fun!
